Build Day 9

Build time today 4.5 hours - Total build time 29.5 hours.
Man time today 4.5 hours - Total man time 40.5 hours.

Firstly had a look at Oli's issues from yesterday. He is correct and there is an issue with the eyelet screwing into the right rear upper wishbone. it was very very tight screwing in so I decided to remove it, it did unscrew most of the way but I can not get it all of the way out. The wishbone is now in the boot ready for a factory visit.

I then had a look at the upright issue, despite using quite a bit of force I could not get the rod through the lower wishbone mount points. it took a bit of force to get it out. I will contact Westfield for advice.

I carried on with the brake pipe fitting, completing the front brake pipes and starting on the feed to the rear. While trying to work out the last couple of bends I came up with a solution that really assisted. I have the remnants of a real of earth cable, left over from fitting an electric shower, I think, approx 6mm in diameter. I cut approx 10-15cm of cable laid it parallel to the brake pipe and then bent it into the correct shape to fit into the flexible pipe once attached to its mounting point. I could then use that as a template to bend the pipe correctly. To do the pipe to the rear I turned the car on its side to allow access to the underside and tunnel.

Left front brake pipe fitted

Right front brake pipe fitted
Car ready to work on the underside
Rear brake pipe connected to three way
coupler with pressure switch installed
Rear Brake pipe under front section of floor

Rear brake pipe exiting tunnel and inserted into rear three
way coupler

It just to time, care, bits of cable and masking tape to get the pipe filleted. It does need some more mounts but I need to get a right angled drill adapter to drill the holes for the rivets in the tunnel.

While the car is on its side I will get the fuel lines done, it may even be worth getting the wiring through the tunnel.
